Native Plant Academy is back

Calling all youth ages 12 to 19 years old residents of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes to apply for the Healthy Community Services' class 2021 Native Plant Academy!

Target Audience: Youth aged 12 y/o to 19 y/o who residents of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes.
This program is accepting of candidates, free of discriminatory practices as outlined by federal law.
Respect for others is a cornerstone of the success of this programming.
Disrespectful and hateful activities, hate speech and bullying will void a participant’s participation in the Native Plant Academy.
Selection: Acceptance to the Native Plant Academy is by
application and/or an application accompanied by a referral or recommendation from the participant’s, school counselor, or faith-based leader.
A referral/recommendation is not necessary for consideration, but the applicant shall make a statement of why they desire to participate.
There is no fee to apply for this program. Participants will have the opportunity to complete an application via telephone, should there be any access to technology challenges. Every attempt is made to remove barriers that might prohibit an applicant’s participation.
Recruitment: Recruitment activities will occur by way of social media, public service announcements, professional organizations, schools, faith-based organizations, green sector newsletters or blogs. The program will accept a minimum of 8 participants. The maximum allowable participants will be 10 cohort members.
